Red Rose Radio Podcast – Karen Livesey Chats to Steve Wilson 7/12/25
I recently met Russ Dee from Red Rose Radio at Lisa Edge’s Lancashare event. We discussed the upcoming webinars that No Whispers is delivering in partnership with Missing People. Russ kindly arranged for me to have an interview with Steve Wilson.
Originally, the plan was to air the chat on Steve’s Sunday morning breakfast programme. However, Russ suggested a better option. We decided to host the full 14-minute interview on the Red Rose Radio website instead. This allows listeners to hear the whole conversation in one go, rather than splitting it up over three hours. Additionally, the station ran a teaser on air throughout the morning.
Partnership with Missing People
Karen Livesey will be co-presenting two one-hour webinars in partnership with Missing People. One session is tailored for professionals, while the other is for parents, carers, and family members.
These sessions help attendees understand the signs of Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) and county lines. You will also learn how criminals target young people and how the Safecall service supports families.

Safeguarding is Everyone’s Responsibility
Criminals often hide the exploitation of children and young people from plain view. Unfortunately, many adults remain unaware of how children and young people are harmed. This includes sexual exploitation, criminal exploitation, financial abuse, and human trafficking.
Therefore, we must widen our radar. We need to recognise, respond, and report any concerns. As Lord Laming’s report states, we must “never do nothing.” Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
